What Continuous Performance Engineering Looks Like
January 16, 2026
Performance work fails when it is a rescue mission. It holds when budgets, tests, and production signals are part of delivery.
A one-time performance audit can reveal a problem. It cannot keep the problem from returning after the next release, the next third-party tag, or the next unreviewed bundle increase.
Continuous performance engineering sets budgets, measures rendering and network cost in CI, and watches real-user vitals after release. LCP, INP, CLS, TTFB, and API latency are treated as product signals.
The most useful findings are comparative: what changed after this release, on which devices and networks, in which journey. That is how performance joins Experience Intelligence instead of living as a lab-only report.
The engineering response should be equally continuous — fix, validate, and add a regression check so the same class of issue is cheaper to catch next time.
